I started getting this alert
"This application is not allowed to access or delete your direct messages" after a recent update. I could not send tweets. This was how I solved it. Open Gwibber and go toEdit/Accounts and select the send messages tickbox - C'est tout.
N.B The alert still seems to come up but it worked and I can sent my tweets
