"human trafficking shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.
Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs." - UN Migration Agency.

This horror is happening now, in our time, right before our very eyes to our sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers in Nigeria and in many cases people are willingly taking, no willingly paying for their trip to death and destruction. It has existed for a long time but the scale of the problem is now spiraling out of control. We are loosing our people daily to this tragedy. Even if some of these people survive the horrors, the emotional damage will be irreparable and will cascade to the next generation. The fallout of this problems are mammoth in proportion and terrible in implication.  

We must work tirelessly to STOP the scourge of human trafficking and the modern slave trade. Our lives and futures depend on it.
